Once Upon a Client
Bybit is a cryptocurrency derivatives platform that supports both inverse and linear perpetual contracts and they were founded in 2018. It is headquartered in Singapore and have users from all over the world including North America, Europe, Russia, Japan, South Korea and Southeast Asia, and are focused on serving everyone from individual retail clients to professional derivatives traders. They approached us through an internal recommendation.
The Goal
Bybit’s goal was to promote and raise awareness for the new exciting features they are about to launch of their platform, and to get more customers onboard their Bybit trading platform as a way to generate more revenue for each transaction taken.Â
The Motivation
ByBit’s new features that they wanted to promote were complicated and they may be confusing for new and existing customers. They were looking for an app explainer video to make the onboarding and customer education process more effective.
The Solution
After understanding their motivations, goals, target audience and marketing channels, we recommended an explainer video as well as came up with a mascot design for them. The mascot would come as 2 characters, ByBee and BitBee, acting as an inexperienced trader and a mentor trader. This allows the customer education process to be more fun and engaging, as viewers can learn from the mentor bee teaching the inexperienced bee and the various funny scenarios and jokes make the experience more memorable. Â
The video was best suited for customers in the advocacy stage, mainly to teach their existing users on these new features, but was also suitable for customers in the consideration stage, by getting customers from competing platforms over to theirs.Â
The Results
The ByBit App Explainer Video and mascot was launched across their various social media, including chinese social media platforms like Weibo. The series of app videos plays a key role in onboarding new users, helping to improve retention rate.Â
